Tradition

An old stagecoach inn on the Achensee (Achen lake), which once even played host to the Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria, was the germinating cell of Reiter’s Hotels and Resorts.

Right up until the beginning of the 1970’s, the Posthotel Achenkirch was a typical Tyrolean country hotel with an inn. Karl J. Reiter, son of the hotel founder, developed this hotel over two decades into “the well-being hotel in the Tyrolean mountains”, one of the best wellness hotels in the entire Alpine region.

In 2004, he handed the management of the hotel over to his son, Karl C. Reiter, and then went on to establish Reiter’s Burgenland Resort with the “Supreme” and “Avance” hotels. In this way, the philosophy and hospitality of the parent hotel acquired a second home in the south of Austria.
